KUALA LUMPUR, Wed. - Malaysia remains free of bird flu, with tests for avian influenza on a duck farm in Perak proving negative.

Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that ducks on the farm in Kuala Dipang, Perak, from which a consignment to Singapore showed suspected H5 bird flu last week, were healthy and had been given the all-clear.

It was reported today that Singapore had suspended duck imports from the farm after discovering a suspected case of avian influenza last week. According to the report, Singapore imports 20,000 live ducks daily from 42 Malaysian farms but the …
