KUALA LUMPUR, Wed. - Malaysia will consider contributing troops to a Saudi Arabian-proposed security force for Iraq, but only when the situation there becomes less dangerous.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the administration was giving some thought to the proposal. Malaysia, which chairs the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, has said it was prepared to send a medical team when Iraq becomes more stable.

Last week, Saudi Arabia proposed that troops be sent to Iraq by Muslim countries such as Algeria, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, Morocco and Yemen.
