IF you're shopping in Durham and fancy a relaxed bistro-style lunch while you watch the world go by, Hollathan's is the place to be. Situated on the edge of Elvet Bridge, it's right in the heart of the city, perfectly placed for a spot of peoplewatching - students, tourists, shoppers, label lovers determined to spend lots of money in Van Mildert across the road. . .
There are all the comforts the coffee addict needs in the bistro - a rack full of newspapers and magazines and squidgy leather sofas - and a tempting range of bistro-style food.
From a menu which included pastas, risottos, wraps and flour tortillas with chicken, steak, cheese, salsas and salads, I chose the mussels and chunky chips (GBP9.99), which were delicious.
