KUALA LUMPUR, Mon. - Former Perwaja Steel Sdn Bhd managing director Tan Sri Eric Chia authorised the payment of an undisclosed amount to a Japanese steel company for technical assistance, the Sessions Court heard today.
The company's former corporate director, Lawrence Lim Chaing Cheah, 54, said Chia told him to pay NKK Corporation even after he pointed out to him (Chia) that there was no sum stated in the letter that came after the signing of technical assistance agreements between the two companies.
