Troubled Italian motorcycle and scooter group Aprilia yesterday refused an offer from Italian motorcycle group Ducati, at the end of their two weeks of exclusive negotiations, opening the way for rival bidder and Italian scooter group Piaggio. Aprilia's chairman Candido Fois, who stepped into the role two months ago to replace majority owner Ivano Beggio, said he thought that both groups could improve their offers.
