BRATISLAVA, Aug 1 (CTK) - Banks operating in Slovakia raised profits by nearly 12 per cent to Sk6.9bn in the first half of the year, according to data released by the central bank NBS.
Three largest banks in the country, Slovenska sporitelna (SLSP), Vseobecna uverova banka (VUB) and Tatra banka contributed more than 60 per cent to the aggregate earnings of the Slovak banking sector.
VUB had the biggest profit of Sk1.43bn, up by roughly a quarter against a year ago. SLSP's profit grew by 44 per cent to Sk1.41bn ...
