SEOUL, Aug 2 Asia Pulse - South Korea's Foreign Ministry confirmed Friday night that two of its nationals were freed in northern India after being detained by a group of villagers.
"They were released at 8:00 p.m. Seoul time and are safe now," an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said.
The official said the two Korean tourists, whose identities are still unknown, were detained with 35 other foreign tourists by the Indian villagers as a measure to put pressure on their government over the kidnapping of three Indian workers in Iraq.
