The sound here is more jazz than Porter (arrangements were by musical director Jack Cooper), but it should appeal to fans of the big-band approach to Broadway-type material. However, it did not appeal to my wife, who is a serious fan of both big-band music and the sound of Cole Porter--but not at the same time. (You might independently like ice cream and roast beef, but you would not care to eat them simultaneously.)
