Depression, Hopelessness in Suicidal Adolescents

A study conducted by psychologists Suzanne Spindler and Paul E. Thetford in the Dallas Independent School District designed research to distinguish between suicide attempters, suicide ideators, and controls in terms of family and individual characteristics. Subjects were 154 high school students who either were enrolled in psychology classes or who were identified as suicidal by school counselors. The students, were classified as attempters, ideators, and controls.
