Budapest, August 1 (MTI) - Twenty-eight people have been evacuated from villages along the central section of the flooded Hernad river, and more residents face evacuation in the Hungarian-Slovak border region, the spokesman of the National Disaster Management Centre told MTI on Sunday.
Tibor Dobson said the evacuees from seven buildings are now in local government buildings or with relatives. He said 20 people face evacuation in the village of Bocs.
Dobson said more than 600 people were helping to reinforce embankments and dikes in 23 towns and villages along the Hernad river.
