CUSTOMS collections continue to exceed targets.
According to Customs Commissioner Antonio Bernardo, figures culled for the first seven months of the year showed that the agency had been able to collect P71.291 billion compared to its target of P63.101 billion, a 13 percent increase.
The government's seven-month take was boosted by preliminary reports showing that the July collections reached P10.724 billion, which was higher than the target of P9.842 billion, Bernardo said.
This, he added, showed that the agency exceeded its target by P882 million or 9 percent.
