NORTH PORT -- Pizza and politics aren't such a bad combination after all for City Commissioner Vanessa Carusone, the state Commission on Ethics ruled this week.

City resident Myles Harriman filed a complaint against Carusone alleging that she broke state ethics laws by placing the city's seal on coupons for her pizza parlor. Carusone and her husband own Slice of New York pizza in North Port.

A spokesman for the state ethics commission said Friday that the agency has thrown out the charge without investigation. The commission released its decision Tuesday.
