THE P'O group is to lose one of its high-flyers, with Tom Boardley leaving the company at the end of August, writes Janet Porter.
Mr Boardley is at present president and chief executive of P'O Ports Canada, a post he has held since the start of the year.
However, when he moved to Vancouver his wife and children stayed in Britain and Mr Boardley has now decided he does not want to be away from the family any more. He will be succeeded by his number two, Darcy Clarkson.
Staff were advised of the management changes in an internal announcement on Friday.
Mr Boardley, a well-known figure in shipping circles, originally joined P'O Containers in 1978 and eventually became P'O Nedlloyd's trades director.
