JAKARTA, July 30 Asia Pulse - A cabinet minister hoped the government's decision to auction 73,000 tons of smuggled sugar would not harm the national sugar price set at Rp3,410 (US$0.37) per kg.

Agriculture Minister Bungaran Saragih said the President had issued a decision letter authorizing the Ministry of Industry and Trade to auction the 73,000 tons of sugar illegally imported recently.
