THAI AIRWAYS TO SPEND US$2.3 BLN ON 14 NEW PLANES
BANGKOK - Thai Airways has announced plans to outlay Bt96 billion (US$2.3 billion) over the next five years buying 14 new aircraft, The Nation reported. The plan will see Thailand's flagship airline buy long-range aircraft of varying capacities for services to Europe, the United States and Australia, Finance Minister Somkid Jatusripitak was quoted as saying. The first planes are due to be delivered in early 2005.
