VIETNAM STARTS TO ENLARGE QUAY FOR LIQUID CARGO IN HAI PHONG
HANOI - Work started to enlarge a quay to receive 10,000 DWT ships, build a support system for liquid cargo pipelines and level the ground of a 25.2 ha area in the Dinh Vu industrial zone, in Hai Phong city, on Wednesday.
This is included in a US$5.4 million project to develop a petro-chemical centre in the Dinh Vu IZ. The support system is 3.7m high and 1,000 m long to support 29 liquid cargo pipe-lines - the most modern equipment in north Vietnam. The enlargement of Dinh Vu wharf and dredging of sea-lanes for receiving 10,000 DWT ships will help complete the construction of a quay for liquid cargo and raise the port's capacity.
