US transportation secretary encourages Asian low cost airlines.

The US Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta has given low-budget airlines in the rapidly expanding Asian market a vote of confidence.

Mineta, who has signed two new aviation agreements in the region with China and Indonesia, said that as long as regional governments and airports treat the carriers fairly there should be no reason why they cannot succeed.
