Plymouth Argyle chairman Paul Stapleton has spoken of his regret after it emerged he punched a fan during last week's pre-season tour of Austria.

Mr Stapleton is understood to have struck Argyle supporter Alastair McCulloch, from Hertfordshire, in a hotel bar on Thursday night.

The altercation took place after Mr McCulloch made insulting remarks about a member of Mr Stapleton's family during an informal get-together with supporters at the Hotel Seerose, in Obertraun, around a mile from the club's pre-season training base.
