You're not a true fantasy geek until your thoughts turn to baseball season during Super Bowl week. That's when you know you have it bad. For those not in the know, it is the unquenchable thirst to play fantasy games no matter the season. Once football season is over, there's a slight pause for reflection, then it's on to baseball.
But chances are if you're reading this page, you're one of us. You know it's important to start preparing for your draft early so you'll look like a genius in late March. You know the foundation of a good draft is accurate player rankings; we've provided you a nice start with our top 20 on this page.
Perhaps you also know what it's like to be considered a bit strange because you can rattle off Scott Rolen's 2004 stat line without batting an eye. But that's OK with us, too. We're aware of what it's like to live the fantasy lifestyle, complete with late nights watching West Coast games and arming yourself with a lingo that includes terms such as snake (also explained on this page). From time to time, we'll share in some of the color and quirkiness that comes with being a fantasy gamer.
What we don't deal with here on a weekly basis, we'll cover on our website, Fantasy Source Baseball (fantasysource.sportingnews.com/baseball). I encourage you to check it out. We have a snappy new look, and we've updated our player rankings, dollar values, scouting reports, team previews and much more. The site is designed to keep you on top of your game with the least amount of work. That way, you can go back to dreaming about calling out Alex Rodriguez's name in late March. After all, the Super Bowl is just a diversion until the baseball draft.
