On saying yes to Dancing with the Stars
My agent said, "Jerry, Dancing with the Stars--they want you on there." I said, "Ain't no way. I'm not going to do that." Then he came back to me again, and he kept putting pressure on me. I said, "Ali right, I'll give it a try." And the first day I met my partner, it just scared me to death because she was going through some moves and she wanted me to try to copy those moves. And I'm like, "There's no way. What have I gotten myself into?" But it's been, like, the experience of a lifetime.
On getting his dancing feet wet before an audience of millions
I think the most enjoyable thing about it is I have to go out and compete. I have to try to dance, and I have to try to sell it to the crowd--and to make it look like I know what I'm doing. It's very challenging in that way. I also think it just completely took me out of my comfort zone. I'm used to performing under pressure, but that's playing football; that's something I've been doing all my life. Now, all of a sudden I'm dancing and I'm out there in front of the audience.
