Feb. 7--Craig Wroe hates to pay retail. Instead, he likes to haggle over prices, applying his expertise in a number of areas -- with everything from furniture purchases to doctors' fees.
For him, haggling is fun, challenging and financially rewarding.
A year ago March, for instance, his bargaining skills landed him a $499 leather jacket for just $200 at an upscale store on Broadway, not far from Houston St.
"Over the course of a year, I save easily $3,000 to $8,000 off listed prices by haggling," said Wroe, an actor, who is also author of the book, "Living Smart-New York City: The Ultimate Insider's Guide for the Budget Savvy."
