On the edge of MacArthur Park, in Los Angeles, a young woman runs across the traffic, after dark, dressed in a sawn-off Santa suit trimmed with tufts of fur. Her other accessories include festive red panty hose and a loaded gun. Her name is Harmony Faith Lane, and if she were one of my relatives I would look forward to Christmas a whole lot more.
