MANILA, Jan 30 Asia Pulse - The country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 5.1 per cent in 2005, reaching the high-end of the government forecast range of 4.8 to 5.1 per cent for the year, despite high oil prices and political noise.
The robust increase in inflows from abroad coming from the overseas Filipino workers pushed the Gross National Product (GNP) to a 5.7-percent growth last year from 6.2 per cent in 2004.
