LCD televisions are growing up. Once available only as midsized sets, these thin TVs now sport screens measuring 32, 37, even 46 inches--sizes suitable for use as a primary TV.
Prices of LCD TVs have dropped over the past year, making them more attractive to more consumers. At press time, you could buy a high-definition (HI)) set with a 26-inch screen for about $1,200 or a 32-incher for $1,700. The largest LCDs are still very pricey, about $2,500 for a 37-inch HDTV. That's as much as you'd pay for a 42-inch plasma set. (Prices are probably lower now, given continuing price cuts.)
