The claim: "Better than Shout," says an ad for Spray 'n Wash Dual Power. "Combines 2 Powerful Ingredients to Clean More Stains better!" Shout Laundry Stain Remover's counterclaim: "Spray 'n Wash Dual runs! Triple-Acting Shout clings to the stains to penetrate and lift them away!"

The check: We squirted both products on cotton, cotton-polyester, and nylon fabrics stained with mustard, automotive grease, lipstick, grass, ballpoint ink, and cherry drink mix. And we tried them on cotton swatches saturated with dried clay, spaghetti sauce, chocolate syrup, ring-around-the-collar, instant coffee with creamer, grape juice, and blood.
