David Merry has joined CJ Coleman from Arthur J Gallagher, where he was chief operating officer. Subject to regulatory approval, he will assume the role of chairman designate of the board. He brings with him a wealth of experience from over 24 years in the London insurance market.

Gavin Burt has also joined the company as operations director. Mr Burt joins from House of Hill/Wincanton where he was chief executive. Paul Rose has joined the company as a senior broker responsible for professional liability and financial institutions business emanating from the US.

Matthew Glasgow has also been appointed as a broker, handling professional liability business from the US.

Carlton Charles has joined Moody's as vice-president/treasurer, replacing Randy Roy, who retired in October. Mr Charles will have responsibility for managing all aspects of the company's financing activities. He has broad experience working in treasury at global companies including Philip Morris, Viacom and Seagram. Prior to joining Moody's, he served as assistant treasurer and director, Enterprise Risk Management for International Paper. He began his professional career in institutional sales at Dean Witter Capital Markets.

Integro has appointed Ronald Tambourine as principal and executive broker, Client Development for the company's Chicago office. Mr Tambourine has over 25 years' experience in Property and Casualty Insurance Brokerage and Surety, most recently serving as vice-president for TJ Adams/HRH. He has also held positions with Aon Risk Services, Mack & Parker and Wausau Insurance.

Commercial Express has appointed Bob Andrews as director of its direct operation - Letprotector.com. He joins the company to lead the retail division, with a focus on developing Commercial Express' direct account and building key relationships with UK & Overseas property development companies. Mr Andrews joins Commercial Express from Archway Insurance, where he was manager since 1995. He brings with him 20 years' experience in a range of senior roles.
