FIVE appointments, but only three of them new faces, come to the Council of Lloyd's, the market governing body following elections which closed on January 20, 2006.

David Shipley, chief executive of MAP Capital, a particular favourite of names, stepped down as a working member representative, but returns in the category of corporate external member.

In the ballot of working members, Ewen Gilmour, chief executive of Chaucer Syndicates, and Graham White, chairman of members' agency CBS Private Capital, were elected.
