(From Irish Independent)
IT was a slow day on Thursday. Fast as a week in summer. I took to looking out the window of the pub to kill the time.
I was fascinated by the facial expressions of the drivers of the cars passing by. The survey covered 50 cars and only one driver was smiling.
I know it was a January day, as grey and lifeless as sudsy water and the Christmas credit card bills had just hit town, but there was a lesson there.
We don't go mad often enough or have enough fun. Irish people are becoming too serious and this malaise is spreading as easily as that paste 'Feck Off Butter', or whatever it is they call it.
