Even before Pat Riley opens the door from his office suite that overlooks Biscayne Bay to walk onto the practice court at AmericanAirlines Arena, his players brace for the worst. Instructions are to be on the court, ready for work, at noon. Needless to say, none of the players has plans scheduled for the afternoon. Or early evening.
