The Colts coach, whose 18-year-old son, James, died on December 22, spoke recently with SNR host James Brown.
On losing a child: "I remember talking to Trent Dilfer when his son died (5-year-old Trevin, in 2003) and saying, 'Trent, I'm so proud of you because I could do a lot of things but I could never do that when your son dies.' And he told me at the time, 'You could if you had to because God's spirit would give you the strength and ability to do it.' And he's absolutely right. That's the only way I could really see myself going through that was the spirit of the Lord just giving me the ability at that time."
