PETROL prices could start rising again next month as higher oil prices feed through to higher prices at the pumps, AA Ireland said yesterday.

However, the rise is expected to be a small one, with AA spokesman Conor Faughnan predicting only a few cents on a litre of petrol.

"There is nothing to suggest we will see a return to the 120c a litre we saw last September," he said.

The threat of higher petrol prices came as the price of crude oil surged close to $67 (55.4) a barrel and the International Energy Agency (IEA) warned of further price hikes in coming weeks.
