Malaysia has banned a second traditional medicine found to illegally contain chemicals used in the anti-impotency drug Viagra.

A chemical analysis by the Drug Control Authority of the Chinese-made Oyster Plus drug found it was mixed with tadalafil, a chemical that goes into making Viagra, said a Health Ministry statement issued Monday.

Over-the-counter sale of medicines containing tadalafil are banned in Malaysia.

"The public should not use products containing tadalafil without being prescribed by a doctor as these drugs could cause deleterious effects to certain patients, especially those with heart conditions of diabetes," it said.
