HOUSTON TEXANS
OFFSEASON GAME PLAN: There already has been a coaching change, and there will be changes in schemes and player personnel. The Texans are expected to switch to a 4-3 defense under a new coordinator. The offensive line finally will get the attention it deserves in the draft and the free-agent market. Drafting a left tackle would be a mistake in light of Chester Pitts' strong play. RB Jonathan Wells, who was the team's most versatile player this season, is a free agent and wants to return, but he likely won't if the team drafts Southern California RB Reggle Bush. QB David Carr will be back and, with better protection, likely will have a breakout season. FINAL GRADES: Offense: D. Sacks increased and points decreased despite changes in the scheme. Defense: D. The unit struggled to stop both the run and the pass. Special teams: B+. Jerome Mathis made the kick return unit formidable. Coaching: D. Dom Capers kept the team together but ended up losing his job.--Megan Manfull

The front four followed DE Dwight Freeney's relentless lead, and the Colts allowed 247 points, 104 fewer than they did last season. Special teams: C-. Kickoffs, coverage and returns were unsatisfactory. Coaching: A. It's hard to imagine the staff handling the hype surrounding the 13-0 start any ...
