Bitton's Dave Parnell is the latest youth team product to earn promotion from the Recreation Ground ranks.

And first-team boss Andy Black is prepared to give the teenager an extended run in the Western League Premier Division.

Having broken into the side last month, Parnell proved his worth when netting the opening goal in a 2-0 victory at Devizes.

"I've always been in favour of giving young players an opportunity if they're good enough, and I happen to think Parnell is good enough, " stated Black.

"He's come a long way in a short space of time, but he's adapting to the demands of Western League …
