SouthFloridaCEO: What are the key challenges facing the city?

Mayor Lois Frankel: Restoring the vibrancy of our downtown, maintaining a growing economic base due to [rising] housing costs, maintaining green space and having an adequate response ready for hurricanes and other major disasters.

SFCEO: What are the key accomplishments of the past few years?

Frankel: We have the highest bond ratings in the city's history due to solid fiscal management .... Other accomplishments include the creation of public-private partnerships with our schools and initiation of the City Center and [waterfront] City Commons projects to reenergize our downtown business core and our waterfront.
