In South Florida, diversity means something very different.
With Hispanics in many high-visibility corporate and government positions, it can be all too easy to figure diversity is not an issue when it comes to the upper echelons of business. After all, in Miami-Dade County, Hispanics are not even a minority--they make up nearly 60 percent of the population, according to the US Census Bureau. Blacks and Hispanics together are approaching 40 percent of the population in Broward County, leaving Palm Beach County as the sole county in South Florida that is still almost 75 percent non-Hispanic white.
