BRATISLAVA, Jan 1 (CTK) - Slovensky plynarensky priemysel (SPP), which transports natural gas from Ukraine to the Slovak- Czech border, has reported today a decline in pressure in the pipelines after Russia's Gazprom halted supplies to Ukraine owing to price disputes.

SPP spokeswoman Dana Krsakova said, however, that there had not been any outages in supplies and gas transport for that moment.

"Gas is still flowing to Slovakia and further to the west, but with a bit lower pressure at the moment. These are swings we are able to cope with," Krsakova told Slovak Television.

The Slovak Economy Ministry has not yet commented on the problems with gas supplies.
