PRAGUE, Jan 1 (CTK) - Czech companies export arms worth hundreds of millions of crowns to China despite the embargo imposed on the Asian country by the European Union, the weekly Euro writes with reference to a new EU report.
In 2004, the Czech Republic ranked third among the 25 EU countries in arms exports to China with seven contracts worth a total of EUR19m (some Kc570m). A year earlier the Czech Republic with nearly EUR4m came fourth behind France, Italy and Great Britain.
European arms makers sold goods worth EUR340m (Kc10.2bn) in China in 2004, against EUR416m (Kc12.5bn) the previous year.
