BRATISLAVA, Jan 1 (CTK) - Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic decorated 20 personalities with state awards on the occasion of the national holiday, anniversary of the establishment of the Slovak Republic after the split of Czechoslovakia in January 1993, today.
Gasparovic decorated at Bratislava Castle five former participants in the Slovak National Uprising against Nazi occupation, that broke out on August 29, 1944, and members of foreign military units that fought against Nazi Germany.
