SEOUL, Jan 2 Asia Pulse - South Korea will continue to make efforts toward financial deregulation, which will help create conditions to encourage investments in real economic sides, the country's top economic policymaker said Monday

In a speech to mark the New Year's opening of the local stock market, Han Duck-soo said his ministry will overhaul finance sector-related regulations and abolish business barriers among the segments.

"The government will allow financial institutions to deal with a wide range of financial products, which will also help increase their competitiveness," Han said.
