- Manufacturers of consumer electronics are preparing to expand production of flat-panel television sets for sale in foreign markets, industry sources say.
- The premiums that people aged 65 and older pay for public nursing care insurance are likely to rise to an average 4,300 yen (US$36.5) a month nationwide in the year starting April 2006, up about 1,000 yen, or 30 per cent, from the current 3,293 yen, a government survey shows.
