JAKARTA, Jan 2 Asia Pulse - State Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Sugiharto said the government had decided to replace Widia Purnama, president director of state-owned gas and oil company PT Pertamina.
"We will replace him not because you are asking it (the replacement), but because it is based on the system," Sugiharto told a meeting with editor-in-chiefs here on Friday night.
He said further that Widia's replacement might be carried out in January 2006.
He said the ministry was still studying the legal aspects of the replacement.
This was in view of the previous experience when the succession of BUMN president directors ended up in a legal dispute.
Other cases also went to court, like the succession in state-owned insurance companies Jasindo and Jamsostek.
Sugiharto said the government lost the case in the replacement of Jasindo leadership.
