KABUL, Jan 2 Asia Pulse - Nomadic Kuchi representatives in the new Afghan parliament Saturday failed to muster enough support for the formation of a commission to look into their problems. The legislature instead debated the rules of business.

Notwithstanding the emphasis prominent Kuchi MPs including Parveen Momand Talwasa, Parveen Durrani and Maulavi Tarakhel placed on the creation of the commission charged with resolving the nomads' hardships, the demand was not backed by the required number of legislators.

Parveen Momand said "We are living in almost all the provinces of Afghanistan and are facing many problems. Therefore, it is the right of Kuchis to have a parliamentary commission to examine their plight and suggest ways of mitigating it." Sultanzai, one of ...
