Budapest, January 1 (MTI) - Hungary's oil and gas company MOL has called on its large consumers to switch from gas to oil on Monday, the company's PR director told MTI.
"We have instructed certain power and district heating plants to switch over to the alternative fuel, oil," Szabolcs I. Ferencz said on Sunday, adding that Hungary was currently receiving 25 percent less gas from Ukraine than usual.
The measure has been taken under effective consumer agreements, and it does not qualify as a restriction of supplies. MOL sells gas to some customers at a lower price; in return they have agreed to use oil instead if that is needed, the director explained. The alternative oil had to be used on ...
