Budapest, January 1 (MTI) - Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom called for responsibility and self-confidence ahead of this year's general elections, in his New Year's Address on public radio and television on Sunday.
Breaking with the tradition of his predecessors' midnight address, Solyom delivered his first such speech on January 1. He expressed his conviction that the right to vote was both a manifestation of democracy and a serious responsibility of voting for parties capable of fulfilling their promises they made in the election campaign.
