If you've found it frustrating to get a product professionally repaired, you're not alone. Our latest "fix it or nix it" survey shows that the process is full of roadblocks, and a hefty number of readers simply give up.
Couple costly, problematic repairs with declining prices for new products, and it's easy to see why readers repaired 16 percent fewer products--including big-ticket items such as lawn tractors, TV sets, and refrigerators--than when we surveyed them in 1997.
