With no relief in sight from high gas prices, buyers are again placing a priority on fuel economy, and many new models making it to the showrooms are reflecting a fuel-efficiency shift.
Honda hopes to capitalize on this trend. A redesigned Civic has arrived, and an updated hybrid version of it should improve on the performance and economy of the previous Civic Hybrid. Honda will also introduce an efficient small hatchback called the Fit.
Not to be outdone, Toyota will unveil new redesigns of the Echo and Camry next year. The Echo continues as a small, low-priced alternative to small hybrids, while the Camry will include a hybrid version.
