1. Albert PUJOLS, Cardinals--The central figure on a Cardinals club that has won 205 regular season games over the last two years put up outstanding offensive numbers with a .330 batting average, 41 homers, 129 runs scored, 117 RBI, .609 slugging percentage and 16 stolen bases. Without his bat, defense, and leadership, the Cardinals are an average team. With him in the middle of their lineup they are N.L. Central Division champs.

2. Derrek LEE, Cubs--A Gold Glove defender at first, Lee led all major league hitters with a .335 average, 99 extra-base hits, 50 doubles, 393 total bases and a .662 slugging percentage while clubbing 46 homers, scoring 120 runs and driving in 107.

3. Alex RODRIGUEZ, Yankees--Despite struggling in the postseason, Rodriguez was instrumental in helping the Yankees capture the American League East Division title for the 10th consecutive season by leading the A.L. in homers with 48 while batting .321 with 130 RBI and 124 runs scored. A solid defender at third, A-Rod also stole 21 bases.

4. David ORTIZ, Red Sox--The powerful left-handed DH led the major leagues with 148 RBI while clubbing 47 homers, 40 doubles and scoring 119 runs. He was most valuable with runners in scoring position--hitting .352 with 14 doubles, seven home runs and 92 RBI. With the game on the line, he was the most feared hitter in the league.

5. Andruw JONES, Braves--With injuries crippling the Braves offense for parts of the 2005 season, Andruw Jones came through and helped carry Atlanta to their 14th consecutive division title with his major league-leading 51 home runs and National League best 128 RBL

6. Mark TEIXEIRA, Rangers--The slugging first baseman clubbed 43 home runs while establishing a major league record for switch-hitters with 144 RBI. His emergence as an all-around hitter included a .301 batting average, 194 hits, 112 runs scored, 41 doubles and .575 slugging percentage.

8. Miguel CABRERA, Marlins--At 22, the young third baseman/outfielder continues to raise the bar of his limitless talent by setting or equaling career highs with 33 home runs, 116 RBI, 106 runs, 43 doubles, 198 hits and a .323 batting mark.
