SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Cal/OSHA Standards Board, this week, welcomes John MacLeod as chairman of the board. Appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger on Tuesday, December 20, MacLeod replaces Jesse Navarro as the public member. MacLeod served as executive officer of the Standards Board from 1995 through 2003.

"John MacLeod's experience as the boards past executive officer will benefit him as he quickly assumes the role of chair," said John Rea, acting director of the Department of Industrial Relations. "MacLeod's experience in regulatory development, policy analysis and management, as well as his understanding of the appeals board process, make him the right leader for the job."

Previously, MacLeod served for more then seven years in the Office of Statewide Health Planning where he was responsible for carrying out the administrative responsibilities for the Division of Facilities Development and also worked 11 years with the Development and Seismic Safety Commission.
