Restoring the stained glass in Saint Michael's Church, Charleston.
The division of Charleston, South Carolina, into two parishes in 1751 necessitated the building of Saint Michael's Church over the course of the next decade or so. Its sophisticated profile was fashioned by artisans most likely equipped with a copy of A Book of Architecture (1728) by James Gibbs (1682-1754) and marshaled by the vision of the Irish master builder Samuel Cardy (w. in South Carolina 1752-c. 1772).
